Meet Unique – Founder of Doula in Heels, LLC
Unique is a Full Spectrum Doula trained through Ancient Song Doula Services, serving individuals and families throughout New Jersey and New York. She is the founder of Doula in Heels, LLC, a practice rooted in advocacy, empowerment, and compassionate care. Through her work, she offers personalized doula services, lactation support, and NICU advocacy, helping families navigate every stage of their reproductive journey with confidence and grace.
With deep connections to her community, Unique is actively involved in local breastfeeding coalitions, birth equity workshops, and parenting advocacy networks. She is currently pursuing re-certification as a Lactation Counselor to continue offering expert, up-to-date care to nursing parents.
Her voice and perspective have been recognized on both community and state platforms—she has spoken on government and grassroots panels, and has received accolades for her dedication to improving birth outcomes and maternal health for women of color.
A Journey Rooted in Experience
As a mother of two, Unique brings lived wisdom and compassion to her care. After the premature birth of her daughter in 2021 at just 27 weeks gestation, she spent three years dedicated to her daughter's recovery and growth. That deeply personal experience reignited her commitment to maternal wellness, particularly for parents navigating the complexities of NICU care, preterm birth, and postpartum recovery.
